This Plug & Play system is ideal if you have children or pets, if you prefer easy installation or if you want to light up your garden with different types of garden lighting.

Plug and Play garden lighting

In our assortment you will find the following types of 24 volt LED garden lights:

  • LED spike lights
  • LED ground lights
  • LED decking lights
  • LED standing lights
  • LED wall lights

LED spike lights
The spike lights have a sharp pin at the bottom. By inserting the pin into the ground, you can easily insert the bollard into the ground wherever you want. The bollard lights are ideal for illuminating shrubs, trees or walls. You can also use them to light a pond (do not place them in the pond) or other objects such as a statue. The spot of the spotlight can be adjusted in height. This allows you to direct the light beam precisely at the desired spot.

LED ground lights
Ground lights are mounted in the ground and shine straight up. These spots are ideal for illuminating a facade, tree or shrub. But they are also good for illuminating a path or driveway.

LED decking lights
Decking lights are mounted in your decking, but also a driveway and walkway can be well illuminated with them.
The decking spots have a lower wattage, so they are not suitable for illuminating an object or tree. But the lower wattage does have the advantage that it is not annoying to look into the light. And since the spotlights are mounted in the ground, this is very important.

LED standing lights
LED standing lights are great for creating a view of a walkway or your driveway. You can also use the floor lamps on a facade to shine.

LED wall lights
The name says it all when it comes to where you mount these lamps. The wall lights are namely mounted against a wall. This can be against a fence, but also against your shed, gable or next to the front door of your house.

You can recognise the 24 Volt lights by the red circle in the top right corner of the picture of the spot or lamp. All above mentioned 24 volt garden lights have the same connector (see also the images below). By turning the connectors, the lights are linked together.

The cabling for the 24-volt lighting can be hidden under a layer of earth. It is therefore not necessary to dig half a metre deep to hide the cables safely. 24 Volt is a low voltage that is safe for humans and (domestic) animals. Furthermore, the 24-volt Plug & Play system is waterproof.

To ensure that the system works on safe 24 volts (low voltage), the incoming 230 volts (high voltage) must be converted to 24 volts. This process is controlled by the 24-volt transformer. You should therefore order a 24-volt transformer separately for the operation of 24-volt lighting. You have a choice of the following two 24-volt transformers.

- The Hamulight 24-volt LED transformer
- The Hamulight 24-volt LED transformer Astro

Plug & Play garden lights

The Hamulight 24-volt LED transformer
You can connect garden lights of up to 80 Watts to the 'normal' 24-volt transformer and the Astro transformer. This means that you can connect, for example, 16 different types of 24-volt garden lights of 5 Watts (16 x 5 Watts = 80 Watts). It does not matter which garden light you choose. All combinations are possible, as long as it is 24 volt garden lighting.

Is 80 watt not enough? Then you will have to use 2 transformers.

The Hamulight 24-volt transformer is equipped with a plug that you can plug into a socket. It is also possible to connect the transformer to an on/off switch.

The Hamulight 24-volt LED transformer Astro
As we have just mentioned, you can connect up to 80 watts to the Astro transformer. The 24-volt Astro transformer, just like the other 24-volt transformers, ensures that the incoming high voltage is converted to low voltage.

With the Astro transformer it is possible to operate the garden lighting (or have it operated). There are 5 positions on the Astro, with which you can let the Astro control your 24 volt garden lighting. Below you can read which modes the transformer has.

  1. ON mode: the lights always stay on
  2. OFF mode: the lights always stay off
  3. AUTO mode: lighting switches on at sunset and switches off at sunrise
  4. TIMER mode: you set the time at which the light switches on and off
  5. ASTRO mode: astronomical timer with local sunrise and sunset

The 24 volt garden light accessories

The transformers must be ordered separately from the webshop and are not included with the 24 volt garden lights. This also applies to the following accessories:

- 24 volt cable connectors (T, Y and I piece)
- 24 volt extension cables

Where you need the transformer for the operation of the 24 volt Plug & Play system, this is not the case for the cable connectors and extension cables. The cable connectors are used if you want to connect multiple 24 volt garden lights to the transformer. And the extension cables are used if you have too little cabling with the lights. Both are also equipped with the 24-volt connector.

The IP value of outdoor lighting

We recommend choosing outdoor lighting with at least IP-65. Lighting with IP-65 is weatherproof. The number 6 indicates that the lighting is dustproof and the number 5 indicates that the lighting is protected against spray water. Ideal for your garden. In our range, you will only find garden lights with IP-65 or IP-67. The latter is slightly better protected against water than the IP-65 versions. Lights with IP-67 can be held under water for up to 30 minutes. However, please note that you cannot install these in water. The conclusion is that both IP ratings are excellent for outdoor use.
